=The Central Dogma of Molecular Biology= The ‘Central Dogma’ is the name given to the following core ideas that form the basis of modern molecular biology. [image:http://i.imgur.com/ey1kTYd.png] Coding information is stored in the nucleus in the form of DNA. In order for the DNA to be expressed, it must first be ‘transcribed’ into single stranded RNA which is capable of leaving the nucleus. Once the RNA reaches the cytoplasm a ribosome ‘translates’ the code into a sequence of amino acids, which folds up into a protein with a very specific shape and function. it is the function of these proteins that gives us our characteristics. Proteins are essentially the moving, working parts of our cells.
